To move between
cities:
The most comment mode of transportation between cities is the public bus or
mini-van service. Both are economical and comfortable. These modes of
transportation are available only during the day. Despite efforts to improve the
road system, conditions are still less than good. If one wants to move around by
vehicle, one should know that there are numerous petrol stations near urban
areas, and few in rural zones. Foreigners are counciled to take great care when
driving because pedestrians, carts, and animals also use the roads (city and
national). Passenger trains depart daily for a limited number of specific
cities, but do not offer much comfort.
To move within cities:
To travel around large cities, one may use public transportation such as busses.
The cost of these vary from 15-20 leke (0,10-0,15 Euro). One may also take taxis
which cost anywhere from 2 to 3 Euros. In a small city, one can easily walk.
In case of a road accident that needs police
intervention, call "129"
